Los Grados

Los Grados

Vacation home built on a steep, triangular plot just minutes from the Pacific Ocean, in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Rather than a single massive structure, the house is composed of three elements arranged around a central void: a small square that serves as a communal terrace, an entrance, and a viewpoint.

The architecture blends into the landscape using local materials such as wood, bamboo, and palm leaves. Designed to accommodate up to 14 people, the house maintains a human scale when occupied by only two or three. One element houses an open kitchen with adjustable shutters, topped by children’s dormitories. Another contains the dining and play areas, while the third is dedicated to the main bedroom and bathroom. The entire composition integrates the site’s existing trees, reinforcing its connection to nature.
