Born
in 1979 in Lyon, France,
from a French mother and an Egyptian
father, Arnaud Zein el Din grew up between Lyon’s
countryside and Egypt. He spent his adolescence in Cairo
then obtained his baccalaureate at the age of 16 and left for Lyon
alone to begin studies in architecture.
Graduated from a master of arts and architecture from the Federal Polytechnic
School of Lausanne in 2005, with the first prize for prefabrication, he began his
activity in Paris, where he gradually moved towards art and the alternative. (Long road to
architecture).
With his wife met in Marseille, they decide to fly to the new world, in search of more chaos and
complexity. They landed in Mexico City in 2007 without speaking a word of Spanish and without
knowing anyone. Feeling like a fish in water, he explored and produced works of art and videos
without respite until 2009 when, together with friends, he started a house-club project in Colonia
Roma, long before it became the actual ultra trendy district: La Casa Roma, the first alternative club
bringing together all kinds of fauna every night.

In 2016, a few km from 123 in Colonia Juárez was born the mini 123,first a bakery and
then finally a neighborhood café, offering mini multi-cultural burger to adapt to the
pandemic.
Currently he is refocusing his activities around art and architecture, which
is ultimately central to his life.

In 2011, he founded with Delphine Passot a design & architecture studio, DEAR, which produce image of festivals and brands, as well as parties or home design, shops and a multitude of events.
In 2014, they took over 123, a cafeteria in the historic center and transformed it into a multi space, an Asian restaurant, a craft store and an art platform in which they invite an artist every month. This latest project known as “1Mes 1 Artista” will produce more than 80 exhibitions.Ç
