Postcards

Collage, Lausanne-Mexico, 2005-2007

I feel proud of the times we are living in. I like to feed romanticism with open eyes, I love buildings and some of them capture my attention greatly. Postcards usually show the most iconic parts of a city or spots of interest, they convey clichés of past centuries, setting aside contemporary constructions. In this exercise I wonder are they not worthy of interest too? These new postcards replace the subject with others less emblematic, best suited to what I believe cities are now, fueling the gaze with romanticism, a certain love for representations according to the present. The use of kitsch design reinforces the contrast with the usual content.
