House Manzanillo

CDMX, 2016

Refurbishment of a 1950s brick wall townhouse at the entrance of a “vecindad” (Mexican equivalent of a British mews). Out of the brick walls, we chose to keep and restore one of them as a token of the original character of the house and contrast with the modern refurbishment. We created a rooftop with access through a hidden turret containing a spiral staircase. A system of railing was specially designed to provide privacy to the rooftop by adding a small balcony with plants on the facade.
